It's been a calm couple of days at the Weserstadion and on the training pitches as the players have been rewarded some hard-earned rest after the brilliant 3-1 home victory against Wolfsburg. As well as getting the three points, it was also an impressive performance from the boys and the good news does not stop there, as the knocks Pavlenka and Bargfrede took during the match seem to be less severe than they may have first seemed.
After about an hour, Bargdrede had to be taken off, "I had a little problem with my foot but it wasn't anything serious," said the midfielder. But he is confident of making a return to training when the boys join up again on Wednesday. "I think that I will be able to train as usual in midweek," said Werder's number 44. The news on Pavlenka, who had to receive some on-pitch treatment around ten minutes before the end of the game, is also positive. "Jiri has a thigh problem and we will be keeping a close eye on him over the next couple of days but we are hoping that he will be back in training as normal on Wednesday," explained Florian Kohfeldt.
Yuning Zhang is also well on his way to recovery. The Chinese national player has been working hard towards making his comeback in the last few weeks. On Tuesday he was spotted in individual training with Justin Eilers while the other players have their break. It is thought that Zhang will be back in first team training at the start of next week.
