Werder youngster Idrissa Touré has received his first professional contract at Werder Bremen. Sporting director Frank Baumann confirmed the news on Friday.
“Idrissa has put in a spell of good performances with the Under-23s this season and was one of the leaders in the side. Despite the team getting relegated, he personally made some very good strides and we’re confident that he hasn’t reached his peak yet. We trust that he’ll be able to make the jump to the Bundesliga,” says Baumann.
The 20-year-old midfielder is grateful for the trust that the club has shown in him. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and what’s to come. This has confirmed that coming to Werder was the right choice for me and that my development is going well.”
Idrissa Touré moved to Werder from FC Schalke 04 last summer. He’s made 35 appearances for the Werder Under-23s and scored two goals.
