52nd minute: Why not try again! Eggestein has two efforts from range in quick succession. Burki in the Dortmund goal however is not fazed by the efforts.
65th minute: Huge chance for BVB but Werder have the post on their side. Sancho plays Reus in brilliantly but Langkamp gets something on his shot, diverting it onto the post and away from danger.
69th minute: Akanji dances past Langkamp and then gives it a go from 15 metres out. Jiri Pavlenka however does wonderfully to stop the effort.
77th minute: Just centimetres is all that stops Werder from taking the lead as Burki watches Kruse's effort roll by his far post.
79th minute: It’s impossible to describe how well Pavlenka is playing! This time he parries Schürrle's effort, who found himself in too much space in the Werder box. Luck is on Werder’s side though, as Sancho is unable to turn the rebound goalwards.
84th minute: Piszczek nearly turns into his own net! Kruse’s dangerous cross across the front of goal is nearly turned in as Piszczek sticks out a leg but it ends up just going wide of Dortmund post.
86th minute: Pavlenka simply unbelievable. This time he parries Schürrle’s header from close range and surely guarantees Werder the point.
90 + 4 minutes: THAT’S IT! Werder have stood up to the pressure but keep the wonderful unbeaten home record going and earn themselves a wonderful point against Borussia Dortmund.
Conclusion: Champions League-hopefuls Dortmund were kept to a point in the Weserstadion as the Green-Whites proved that every centimetre really does count. Werder had to rely on a stellar performance from their keeper this evening as he saved them on numerous occasions. In the first half however, Werder looked dangerous with Rashica, Junuzovic and Augustinsson linking up well, offering a way out and something going forward. Thomas Delaney scored at just the right time for the Green-Whites, completely changing Kohfeldt’s half time team talk. Werder played with bravery in the second half to keep out Peter Stöger’s XI, as their chances in the 65th, 69th, 79th and 86th minute were all squandered. The last word has to go to Jiri Pavlenka who was immense between the sticks this evening, earning his team a vital point in the Weserstadion.
