“We wish Lamine success with his new club and all the best for the future. Despite everything that has gone in the last few weeks, Lamine has been a Werder player for the last year and a half and in that time he has given his all for the team. Off the pitch he was always well-mannered and was a great addition to the team,” explained Frank Baumann.
Sané was suspended from the first team at the end of January after he excused himself from two days training without permission from the club. In the last few weeks, Sané has had the opportunity to clarify his future with the club.
Lamine Sané joined Werder in the summer of 2016. Since then he has played 38 Bundesliga games and two DFB ties for the Green-Whites, scoring two goals.
