Kohfeldt on who is to follow Junuzovic as club captain

The news broke at the start of the week that club captain Zlatko Junuzovic will leave the club in summer and so the manager is starting to look at who will be the player to replace Zladdi as club captain. Head coach Kohfeldt stressed on Wednesday that he has already started to mull the problem of the Austrian’s replacement over, “I can say for sure that I have a few names in mind but I still need to see the full squad for next season.” So perhaps Florian will have a few more names to choose from when he has to make the decision.

However the Werder head coach made it clear that the captain for next season was a matter that needs to be dealt with in summer. Kohfeldt is currently dealing with the final few Bundesliga games of the season and trying to ensure Werder remain in the Bundesliga for next season. “I will look at the entire squad in pre-season and then towards the end of the training camps I will make my decision,” said Kohfeldt.

“I will be the one to make the decision,” said Kohfeldt. It will therefore be important for the entirety of next year’s squad to try and impress the head coach in next year’s pre-season training camps.
