Thanos Petsos has left SV Werder Bremen to join SK Rapid Wien on a one-year loan deal. The Greek midfielder, who played for the Austrian record champions between 2013 and 2016, will spend the rest of the current season at his old club, as sporting director Frank Baumann announced on Wednesday afternoon.

"We notified Thanos early on that we already have strong players in his position and have worked hard with him to find a suitable solution. We’re happy that we have come to a satisfactory agreement for all parties,” explained Baumann.

Thanos Petsos joined the Green-Whites in 2016 from Rapid Wien. He made three appearances for SV Werder Bremen in the first half of the 2016/17, before joining English Championship side Fulham FC on loan for the second half of the season.
