Two new options. Shortly before the end of the transfer window, Werder were able to secure the services of 21-year-old Milot Rashica. The eleven-time national player might even slot straight into the Werder XI. “Milot is a super player, who will help the team right away. He will definitely be in the squad for the Schalke game and may even start,” said Kohfeldt on his plans for Rashica in the upcoming away game in Gelsenkirchen. The coach also spoke in glowing terms about Sebastian Langkamp; the new Werder central defender, “Basti is a great team player, who brings a lot of experience to the side and can also be a leader on the pitch. He should be pushing for a regular spot in the starting XI.” Therefore we may be in for a treat as both signings may feature come Saturday.

Applying the finishing touches. Along with the new-signings of Sebastian Langkamp from Hertha BSC and Milot Rashica from Vitesse Arnheim, Kohfeldt is able to choose from the entire Werder squad bar those with long term injuries. Ole Käuper is still recovering from an ankle injury and so will not be available to play on Saturday.

Bastis first day. When a player joins on the final day of the transfer window, all the paperwork has to be processed a bit faster than usual. Such was the case on Wednesday when Sebastian Langkamp made his switch to the Green-Whites. Although, there was nothing but smiles on the player’s face as he was seen holding his jersey inside the Weserstadion. Looking forward to seeing you in the Green-White strip Basti!

Caldirola's future. "The situation with Luca has somewhat worsened over the course of the transfer window," explained Florian Kohfeldt on Werder’s central defender Luca Caldirola. With the arrival of Langkamp, Caldirola may fear more time on the sidelines due to increased competition in the heart of the Werder defence. “Luca is a very valuable player with a strong left foot and I think that we will need him in the second half of the season. Obviously though I have spoken with him a lot and explained that when Niklas Moisander is fit, he will play,” detailled Kohfeldt on Caldirola’s role in the Werder squad.

Game heads on. Newcomers Milot Rashica and Sebastian Langkamp both cut happy figures when they were presented with their Gren-White jerseys, but now their attentions will quickly have to switch to the match this weekend against Schalke.
