++ First team debut for Rieckmann?! Young talent Julian Rieckmann appears to have a sepcial weekend ahead of him. The 16-year-old, who travelled with the Werder first team squad to the training camp in Schneverdingen, had made a positive impression. "We will continue to try things out, but we want to see the majority of the players play the full 90 minutes. Therefore, in both games, we'll let the team play most of the game, but we do also want as many players as possible to get game time," said head coach Alexander Nouri.  Rieckmann is one of those players. "Julian will definitely get some game time," promised Nouri and this will be the young man's first appearance for the Green-Whites. +++

++ New turf at Weser-Stadion: Immediately after the final game of last season, the pitch at the Weser-Stadion was dug up, but this time, instead of laying down ordinary turf like they did three years ago, the grounds men have opted for 'hybrid turf'. This week, with the help of a machine, around 5-6% of the turf that has been laid is made of artificial grass. This should give the pitch more stability and make it last longer. +++

++ Arnautovic back on WERDER.TV: Werder will play two friendlies against West Ham United of the English Premier League this weekend. The two matches are scheduled for Friday evening (18:30 CEST in Schneverdingen) and Saturday afternoon (15:30 CEST in Lohne). Werder could come up against a former Green-White, as Austria international Marko Arnautovic, who was at Werder fom 2010 to 2013, recently signed for the Hammers. WERDER.TV will be showing both of the games live. +++

++ Fair gesture: This week it was confirmed that the DFB Pokal first round match between SV Werder and the Würzburger Kickers will be re-located to Offenbach because of neighbourhood issues. Daniel Sauer, the chairman of the Würzburger Kickers, apologised for any inconvenience this would cause to the Werder fans. "To any Werder fans who have already booked hotels or travel, we would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause," said Sauer on the website of the third division side. +++

++ Great acknowledgement: With his goals and assists, Jean-Manuel Mbom ensured that Werder's U17s were crowned north German champions and German runners-up last season. The captain of the U17s side has now been recognised for his superb performances by receiving the silver Fritz-Walter medal for being voted the second best talent for his age group last season. Many congratulations on a well-deserved award! +++
