+++ Committed challenges: Taking a look at the "fair-play" Bundesliga table reveals that there are only two teams ahead of Werder - FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Some would say this is a sign that the Green-Whites lack aggression in their game, and head coach Florian Kohfeldt gave his thoughts on this statistic in the press conference ahead of this weekend’s encounter with BVB. “We want to tackle on the limit and we did that in our last game. I will, however, never tell my players to play unfairly. That would be ridiculous and it contradicts the core values of our club,” underlined Kohfeldt, who has once again called for a passionate display from his men against Dortmund this Saturday. +++

+++ Off to Dortmund! The Green-Whites have already completed their final training session before tomorrow’s game. At 13:00 CET, the team set off for the Ruhr district, where a tricky away game at BVB awaits them (KO: 15:30 CET). Coach Florian Kohfeldt will be able to rely on exactly the same players that beat Stuttgart 1-0 last weekend. Luca Caldirola, who currently has a foot injury, and Aron Johannsson will again not be available for selection.

Kohfeldt has called up the following 18 players: Pavlenka, Drobny – Bauer, Augustinsson, Delaney, Kainz, Gondorf, Kruse, Veljkovic, Hajrovic, Junuzovic, Moisander, Bartels, Gebre Selassie, Sané, Belfodil, M. Eggestein, Bargfrede. +++

+++ Super striker: With four goals in his last three games, Max Kruse has again shown the Bundesliga what he is capable of. But at the weekend, the Werder defence will have their own danger man to keep their eyes on – BVB’s Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. Midfielder Thomas Delaney has given his thoughts on the pair. “I think they are both very good. Max, as well as Aubameyang, can cause any team problems. But maybe Max is a little better,” said the Denmark international with a grin. The Green-Whites’ number six also explained how important Kruse is to the team, even when you do not consider his goals: “Max moves very good between the lines and is always available for a pass.” +++

+++ “And the award goes to…”: What a year Josh Sargent has had. After the 17 year old, who will sign a professional contract with Werder in February, was called up to three different USA national teams, he has now been nominated for an award. Sargent is in the running for the “Youth Player of the Year”. Coaches from the American national association of professional football, as well as national-team players, journalists and former players, will have until December 12th to vote for their winner. All we can do is wish Josh the best! +++
