+++ Captain back at the helm: Niklas Moisander made an impressive comeback in the home game against Freiburg on Saturday and he showed, straight from the off, how important he is to SVW. Head coach Alexander Nouri also noted that: “Niklas played extremely well for the whole 90 minutes. The experience he has as our captain is really useful for us.” An impression which is backed up by the stats. Moisander won 86% of his tackles, had 80 touches – the most of any player on the pitch – and had an 89% passing accuracy. Brilliant figures. +++

+++ Jiri keeps the door closed: When the attackers can’t find the net, it is even more important to hold firm at the back. Werder’s stopper Jiri Pavlenka prevented the away side from going into the lead on numerous occasions in the first half with a goalkeeping master class. Florian Niederlechner had three good opportunities to score in the opening 45 minutes (13’, 27’ and 40’) but the Czech number one was equal to the shots every time. Pavlenka made 13 saves in total and so kept the first clean sheet of his short Bundesliga career. +++

+++ Weserstadion at night: On Saturday 7th October 2017, due to the international break, there won’t be a match kicking off at the Werder stadium but there will be an exciting opportunity for all Green-White fans. When the sun sets, WUSEUM and WERDER Fan World will open their doors and offer fans a unique experience in the nicest stadium in the world. From moonlight shopping to photo shoots with the DFB-Pokal trophy to a flashlight tour around the stadium: For anyone who visits, it’s access all areas after the sun goes down. All the info on ticket prices, how to sign up and starting times for the different tours is here. +++
