++ Kainz can head to Moldova full of confidence: Florian Kainz had more than just his country’s 3-2 win against Serbia on Friday to be happy about. He would’ve also had his confidence boosted by the words of his national team’s head coach, Marcel Koller, who spoke about Kainz’s improvement in an Austria shirt. “Earlier in his international career, he was quiet and reserved, now he has become more of a man. He is a big personality in the dressing room and he is vocal in training,” Koller said and he’ll be counting on these qualities again on Monday evening. That is when Austria will conclude their World Cup qualification campaign in Moldova. +++

++ Target – “fully fit”: He played 45 minutes against Meppen on Friday and was back on the training pitch on Sunday. It’s all looking up for Zlatko Junuzovic at the moment. The outlook is so positive that he could be set to make his return to the starting line-up this weekend. “The target is to be fully fit for Gladbach,” Junuzovic said in an interview with Kicker magazine. +++

++ Delaney features, Pavlenka watches on from the bench: Thomas Delaney played 90 minutes against Romania in Copenhagen on Sunday evening. The Danes only managed to come out with a 1-1 draw but they were already secured of second place in the group because of results elsewhere. It was much more important to give themselves as much a chance as possible of qualifying for the World Cup finals in Russia next year. Delaney and co. did this by defending second place in their group and so in doing so, qualified for the World Cup playoffs. Jiri Pavlenka’s Czech Republic had a home game on Sunday too. The team coached by Karel Jarolim, with hopes of qualification for next summer already gone, met San Marino in Plzen and comfortably ran out 5-0 winners. Pavlenka watched on from the bench this time. Yuning Zhang put in a great performance again for the Chinese U22 national team on their training camp. The striker scored, just as he had in the first friendly, again against Honduras. +++

++ Kruse is flying towards his comeback: Max Kruse is in Mallorca at the moment and is completing a part of his rehabilitation programme. In order to ensure his broken collarbone, which he sustained in the game against FC Schalke 04, heals as quickly as possible, the Green-White striker has been trying out alternative methods of recovery on the Island of the Sun. Kruse posted a picture on his Instagram profile whilst he was doing “acrobatic yoga”. +++

++ Triumph over Costa Rica: In front of 12,000 people in Goa, India, the Germany U17 side won their World Cup opener 2-1 courtesy of a last-minute goal with the help of Werder’s Luca Plogmann and Pascal Hackenthal. Noah Awuku scored the winner in the 89th minute after coming on as a substitute. Both Werder youngsters started and whilst Plogmann played the whole game, Hackethal was replaced after 61 minutes. Also the soon-to-be Bremen star Joshua Sargent made a successful start to the tournament with the USA. He scored the opener in a 3-0 win against India. +++
