+++ Nothing gets past Pavlenka: After the Nordderby victory this weekend, Jiri Pavlenka claimed his seventh clean sheet of the season, which is already a reason to celebrate. Jiri is the only keeper to rack up such a high tally since the 09/10 season with Tim Wiese between the sticks at the Weserstadion. In that season, Wiese racked up an incredible twelve clean sheets, so still something to work towards, Jiri! +++

+++ Safe and secure: The Nordderby on Saturday evening was a scrappy, hard-fought game, with few clear-cut chances for either side. The familiar centre-back pairing of Niklas Moisander and Milos Veljkovic had a large part to play in the lack of chances for the away side. Veljkovic won 71 percent of his duels, while Moisander boasted a staggering 85 percent pass completion rate and with 116 passes in total, he sure was busy. +++

+++ Wonderfully controversial: For all Green-Whites it was the moment of the weekend; the goal in the 87th minute of the Nordderby and the winning goal at that. The goal was officially awarded to Hamburg’s central-defender Drongelen, however Ishak Belfodil remains the sentimental goalscorer in the eyes of many Werder fans. The goal was cause for much discussion after the final-whistle was blown; was Jóhannsson in an offside position? Was it a foul from Belfodil? “From the pictures I saw, it was not offside. In terms of the foul from Belfodil, there will always be differing opinions. You could argue about it until the cows came home and therefore I think it was the right decision to allow the goal to stand,” explained Werder’s footballing director Frank Baumann. +++

++ Short and crisp: Fans have only got to wait four days until the next Werder fixture as the Green-Whites are in action again on Friday eveening against Borussia Mönchengladbach at 20:30 CET. On Monday, the boys will have the day off and then preparation for the game will begin on Tuesday at 11:00 CET, with a packed schedule until the fixture itself on Friday evening. +++
