+++ Werder’s head coach Alexander Nouri is really looking forward to the club’s friendly with Hamburg “Cult-Club” St. Pauli. “This match is an important one for us. Pauli had a strong second half of the season and are going into this one with a lot of ambition. I am really looking forward to the stadium and the atmosphere,” said the Werder coach to WERDER.DE. “For us, it is about putting in a good account of ourselves. Some of the guys will play the full 90 minutes but we will try to give everyone some game time,” Nouri continued. +++

+++ Personnel for the friendly: There will however be five Werder men who will not be travelling with the squad to Hamburg. Zlatko Junuzovic was forced to rest on Thursday and Friday after a minor Achilles problem, whilst Jesper Verlaat is not training at all due to some ankle issues. Both will however be ready for the training camp in Schneverdingen. Johannes Eggestein will also not feature against St. Pauli, after picking up a bruise in his right ankle against Osnabrück earlier in the week. He has managed to rejoin the team in training but he will instead spend the weekend further working on his recovery. Ousman Manneh and Niklas Schmidt will both train individually in Bremen. +++

+++ Working hard on the pitch: The Werder players have been working intensely on the pitch at the Weser-Stadion this week as they look to perfect their shape ahead of their second training camp. Jaroslav Drobny suffered an allergic reaction after being stung by a wasp in his right foot, so he has not been in training all week. Izet Hajrovic is following a rehabilitation plan as he looks to return to training soon. Niklas Moisander is training individually due to an injury as well. +++
