The Green-Whites arrived in Algorfa on Tuesday to the sun shining, leaves on the trees and a temperature of 22 degrees. The Werder players are training in the perfect conditions over the winter break. “We are very impressed with the players so far. We are really satisfied,” said Frank Baumann.
Zlatko Junuzovic and Co. were allowed to get up a little later for their first day of training camp in Algorfa. “The alarms went off a little later to allow the boys to recover from the journey,” said Baumann. Florian Kohfeldt’s team were on the training pitches by 11am CET for their first session of 2018. “It was a relaxed training session to get started,” said Zlatko Junuzovic.
The Austrian missed the last two competitive matches before the winter break due to muscular problems, however he was back in training for the first session of 2018. The winter break was long enough to make a full recovery. “I have had to deal with a number of injuries and setbacks in the last six months. I could not get myself into a proper routine,” said Junuzovic.
Now, however, the midfielder is back to full fitness. “I trained over the winter break and feel fully fit now. I am really excited about playing football again,” explained Junuzovic. The perfect playing conditions are certainly helping to fuel his excitement.
