Ludwig Augustinsson: “Finally! It was a fantastic evening. We were really courageous and we carried out the game plan really well. We said that this would be the day that we would win. We gave it our all and got what we deserved in the end. We are over the moon.
Maximilian Eggestein: “We had a clear game plan which we stuck to. We attacked early on and we were intelligent in our counter attacks throughout. The Gegenpressing which we practiced all of this week paid dividends. It was hard for Hannover to defend against us.”
Max Kruse: “The win in itself is brilliant but we have also waited such a long time for it. We did everything that the boss wanted us to and we played really good football. We worked a lot on our tactics in the international break and we were aggressive today. The win is really important but we only have eight points so we are not going to stay on cloud nine for too long, we are going to carry on working hard. There is a long road ahead of us.”
Fin Bartels: “A lot of things went our way today that have been going against us in previous weeks. Just after the break, Hannover had the chance to get back into the game but Pavlas kept us in it. That’s the sort of moment that can turn a match. It would be harsh to expect a perfect 90 minutes from us so our weaker periods are acceptable. But we will continue to work on that.”
Frank Baumann: “It was a really good performance today; we had the rub of the green as well that we had been missing in previous weeks. Our tactics were spot on and we increased in confidence as the game went on. There were a few periods of the game in which we weren’t as good. But that is not overly surprising after 11 games in a row without a win.”
Florian Kohfeldt: “The team started really well, even though Hannover were well prepared for us. It was clear that they had studied our game against Frankfurt but we had the solutions in case they had done. We were really prepared today and it paid off. It wasn't a perfect victory by all means but I can only really compliment the team today.“
