Fin Bartels: “We are disappointed and frustrated. The point just isn’t enough. We wanted to win, everyone could see that but Freiburg put in the miles in the first half and made our lives difficult. Before the break, Freiburg had the more clear-cut chances but afterwards, we were the team with the opportunities.”
Alexander Nouri: “We made too many mistakes when we had the ball in the first half, in terms of our passing and controlling the ball. We should’ve been more relaxed and confident on the ball. That stopped us from getting into our rhythm. We put more pressure on in the second 45 and created lots of chances. We just needed to put the ball away.”
Frank Baumann: “It’s obvious that after not winning in five matches, it is going to be hard to be confident going into a match and today’s game wasn’t going to be one for the neutrals. We didn’t play brilliantly but we didn’t make any mistakes. Freiburg are one of the most hard-running sides in the league and even though we were coming off the back of a midweek game, we kept up with them. The tiredness meant a few misplaced passes were bound to happen. In the second half we played much better but we were too timid in front of goal.”
Niklas Moisander: “Freiburg ran a lot more than us in the first half, that wasn’t good. We worked harder in the second period and got into the game a bit more. That meant we were able to created chances and it is just frustrating that we couldn’t make the most of them.”
