Next year, SV Werder Bremen will travel to a training camp in Alhaurín el Grande, Malaga to prepare for the second half of the season. The team will stay there for around a week, from the 4th until the 10th or 11th of January – the return date has not yet been finalised.
“I was there last week and was convinced by the good facilities. The training pitches are right next to the hotel and the surrounding area provides us with the chance to fully concentrate on our preparations. Also, other renowned teams will be in the region, against whom we can play friendlies,” explained director of sport, Frank Baumann. On Monday the 9th of January, a double matchday is planned, with the opponents and exact schedule being announced in due course.
The Green-Whites’ first competitive game of 2017 is a Bundesliga home tie against Borussia Dortmund on the 21st of January (15:30 CET).
