Milos Veljkovic and the Serbia U21s have started their European Championship campaign with a loss. Goals from Goncalo Guedes (37’) and Bruno Fernandes (88’) were enough to beat the Green-White defender’s nation in their tournament opener.

Veljkovic played the whole game, but he and his Serbia teammates, who have been called a “golden generation”, will now find it even tougher to reach the semi-finals, as only the three nations who top their group and the best second-placed team qualify.

On Tuesday (20/06) at 18:00 CEST, Veljkovic and co. face Macedonia. Three days later, they come up against Spain in their final group stage match (20:45 CEST).
