On Tuesday morning, four days before the Bundesliga restarts, the Werder players braved the ice-cold temperatures in Bremen to do some laps of the pitch. Before, a session in the gym was on the schedule for the Green-Whites, while in the afternoon the lads were outside in more usual surroundings with footballs at their feet. The good news of the day came from Claudio Pizarro, as the striker returned to team training ahead of schedule.

As was previously announced, the Peruvian took part in both the intensive morning training session and the afternoon one. Pizarro was forced to leave the field just after half time in last Saturday’s friendly against Eintracht Braunschweig, after he complained of back trouble. Justin Eilers also returned to training, after he missed the game against Braunschweig, having felt discomfort in his neck before the friendly.

Forward Aron Jóhannsson followed an individual training programme in the weights room, however he still might not be available to play at the weekend. Lamine Sané is set to return to full team training sometime this week. Zlatko Junuzovic and Philipp Bargfrede also didn’t train with the rest of the team at the Weser-Stadion on Tuesday and will be unavailable for the match against Borussia Dortmund this Saturday (15:30 CET).
