81’ min.: GOOOAAALLL, 2-2, Max Kruse. Werder are level for a second time and once again it’s Max Kruse. 90 + 4’ min.: GOOOAAALLL, 4-2 to Werder, Max Kruse. INCREDIBLE! Kruse finishes off a counter attack by walking the ball into an empty net after the Ingolstadt keeper went forward for a corner. Bartels plays a perfect through ball and Kruse stays onside and finishes for his fourth of the afternoon.
90 + 4’ Min.: FULL-TIME! Werder take all three points in Ingolstadt.
Conclusion: The Werder attack found it difficult against a resolute Ingolstadt defence for large parts of the game. As expected, the home team were energetic and pressed the Green-Whites hard in their own half. There were some lapses in concentration at the back from Bremen, one of which led to the opening goal, however, a well worked counter attack which resulted in a penalty for the away side ensured that, despite a tough first-half, the sides went in level at half-time. Alexander Nouri reacted to going behind in the second-half by throwing on Pizarro and Gnabry and it worked. Werder turned the game around thanks to some clinical finishing from the in-form Max Kruse.
