Thursday saw SV Werder return to training in Bremen, it was the first session since the Green-Whites returned from their training camp in Alhaurín el Grande, Spain. Very different weather conditions greeted Alexander Nouri’s men as they arrived back at the Weser-Stadion in the morning.
Nouri split the squad into two groups. One group completed some passing and tactical exercises out on the training pitches, while the other set of players worked in the gym. Later, the two groups swapped. U23s players Niklas Schmidt, Ousman Manneh, Jesper Verlaat and Luca-Milan Zander, who all travelled with the senior players to Spain, again trained with the first team.
Meanwhile, Zlatko Junuzovic (calf problems) trained exclusively in the gym, and Lamine Sané followed an individual programme. Florian Grillitsch was treated individually for a shoulder injury, while Philipp Bargfrede sat out with an Achilles problem.
