The Werder players were critical of themselves after a painful 1-0 defeat at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach. “If you don’t get it right in the critical moments and keep on conceding goals, it becomes difficult to win games. In my view we need to take a look at ourselves immediately,” said Max Kruse after the match. Kruse warned about simply relying on the quality in the team beforehand. “We don’t need to be talking about our strengths right now. There is no point in us saying that we played the better football. Points take you up the table and we haven’t got any recently. We need to get back to battling, playing and putting challenges in.”
