++ Hajrovic returns! Almost one and a half years separate Hajrovic’s first and second Bundesliga goals. After his one-year loan to Spanish side SD Eibar, where he played seven times, and his short appearance against FC Augsburg, not many people expected the Bosnian to be in Wednesday night's starting eleven. However, Hajrovic repaid the new interim coach’s faith in him by scoring a great long-distance strike to open the scoring against Mainz - the attacking player could have even made it 2-0, but couldn’t convert his one-on-one chance. “Izet made a great case for himself in the last two days and he also played well in the game,” commented Alexander Nouri after the final whistle. Hajrovic was also thankful for his chance: “The coach fully trusted me and I’m a player who needs that. The goal was also a “thank you” to all of the fans who’ve believed in me. I’d like to give everything back that the club has given me, so I will keep working and give everything.” +++

++ Schröder’s rollercoaster of emotions: Wednesday evening was special for Rouven Schröder. A year and a half ago, he was the director of football and scouting at Werder, before moving to FSV Mainz this March where he’s now the director of sport. On Wednesday evening, he experienced a real rollercoaster of emotions in the final minutes of the match. “Of course it’s bitter for Werder when you lose this way so close to the final whistle. At first, I was very happy about the goal but that quickly went away,” said Schröder to journalists after the game, “you come back and see everyone’s faces and you can’t be happy for long. You're still connected to the club in some way.” +++

++ Nouri receives warning: Werder’s new interim coach will receive no further punishment after being sent to the stands in the game against Mainz, as the 37 year old has only been given a warning by the DFB. He will therefore be able to be on the touchline for Bremen’s next game against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday the 24th of September (18.30 CEST). +++

++ Drobny remains No. 1: After Nouri’s appointment, there were a few personnel questions which Werder fans have been wanting answers to. An example of one of these is who will start in goal – Jaroslav Drobny or Felix Wiedwald? Along with goalkeeper coach Christian Vander, Nouri has decided to stick with the experience Czech, who also played on the last matchday in Mönchengladbach for this week’s run of games. In the game against the “Zerofivers”, our number 33 had a solid match and couldn’t have done anything about either of the goals he conceded. After the game, Nouri confirmed Drobny would stay in goal against Wolfsburg: “We didn’t want to keep chopping and changing so have decided to stick with Drobny for this week’s games.” +++

++ Gnabry scores #BLGOTW: Gnabry’s spectacular volley against Gladbach has been voted Bundesliga Goal of the Week by users on Bundesliga.de. The strike won with 43% of the votes, while Sebastian Rode’s second place strike earned 25% of the votes, Lewandowski’s goal 21% and Chicharito’s 11%. From a Werder perspective, it was one of the few enjoyable moments of last week’s game at Borussia-Park. WERDER.DE congratulates Gnabry on his goal and hopes for similar ones in the future! +++
