++ Gratitude: There was one constant that the Werder players were able to rely on during a long and intense Bundesliga season: the support of their own fans. Last weekend was no one-off, when around 10,000 Werder supporters made the journey to the Ruhr; rather the fans got behind the Green-whites in every one of their 16 other away games. On behalf of the team, WERDER.DE says: Thank you for your support! +++

++ Offensive firepower: If there's one thing that SV Werder proved in the second-half of the season, it was that they were a serious threat in front of goal. The total tally of the Green-whites’ goals stood at 61 after Matchday 34, good enough for the fifth best attack in the Bundesliga, and there were only two occasions where they failed to score a goal in the game. The chemistry between Max Kruse and Fin Bartels in attack was exceptional: Bartels was directly involved in 17 goals, whilst Kruse was involved in 22. Together, the two forwards were involved in over half of all of Werder’s goals for the season. Kudos! +++

++ 100 percent Werder: There were two SV Werder teams that had cause to celebrate last weekend. Werder’s women’s team capped off their fantastic season by winning the 2. Frauen Fußballbundesliga-Nord title on Sunday, thanks to a 3-1 victory for Steffen Rau’s eleven against VfL Wolfsburg. Meanwhile, Werder’s U23s succeeded in avoiding relegation on account of a 1-0 win over VfR Aalen for Florian Kohfeldt’s men, thereby guaranteeing their participation in the 3. Liga next season. The Green-whites will therefore be the second Bundesliga side to also field a team in the third tier of German football. Congratulations! +++

++ Finale: Certain SV Werder players are taking part in a team trip to Mallorca after a long and intense Bundesliga season, so that they can experience the end of the season together. They are only on the island until Tuesday afternoon, before each individual then goes off to enjoy their well-earned summer break in their own way. Boys, you’ve more than earned a break after finishing as the fourth best team in the second-half of the season – enjoy the sun and relax! +++

++ Celebrations: A long season has come to an end for SV Werder’s players who are out on loan as well. Lennart Thy, who spent the second-half of the season with FC St. Pauli, had a positive end to his time there, saying goodbye to the Hamburg side with a brace against VfL Bochum. The season didn’t end so well for Levent Aycicek and Marnon Busch, who were both with 2. Bundesliga outfit 1860 München, and now have to fight in a relegation playoff in order to stay up. Fallou Diagne has enjoyed more success with FC Metz, having confirmed that the Ligue 1 outfit’s relegation had been avoided at the start of May. +++

++ Congratulations: Two familiar faces returned to the top flight last weekend in the form of VfB Stuttgart and Hannover 96. The Swabia side finished top of the 2. Bundesliga, whilst Hannover achieved automatic promotion to the Bundesliga due to their second-place finish.  WERDER.DE looks forward to the games and says: Congratulations on achieving automatic promotion! +++
