+++ Three injuries: Clemens Fritz had to come off at half-time in the match against 1. FC Köln at the weekend and Zlatko Junuzovic came on to replace him. According to Nouri, the Werder captain had to be taken off because he was having problems with his back. “Clemens is receiving treatment at the moment. We’re waiting for further updates,” said Nouri on Monday morning. Philipp Bargfrede (Achilles problem) and Claudio Pizarro (back problems) are also recovering from injury. Despite this, Nouri is convinced that the three players will be available for Wednesday’s game against TSG Hoffenheim. “None of these players are definitely unavailable for Wednesday. We’re optimistic that they will make it,” said Nouri. The Werder manager also provided us with an update on Florian Grillitsch, who has been out due to muscle problems. “Florian will start training again today, however it’s too early for him to make an appearance on Wednesday.” Niklas Moisander, Lamine Sané, Santiago García, Jaroslav Drobny and Michael Zetterer all trained individually on Monday. +++

+++ Three Man of the Match awards: Serge Gnabry received the Volkswagen Man of the Match award for the third time this season for his performance against FC Köln. The Germany U21 international scored his first goal at the Weser-Stadion on Saturday afternoon, securing a point for Werder in the 1-1 draw. +++

+++ Three visitors: Ex-Werder goalkeeper Tim Wiese paid a visit to the Weser-Stadion for the last home game against 1. FC Köln. However, the professional wrestler wasn’t able to celebrate a win on his 35th birthday with the club which has a special place in his heart. Nelson Valdez, who recently won the MLS championship with Seattle Sounders and played for Werder between 2001 and 2006, was the second visitor to the Weser-Stadion at the weekend. Finally, Assani Lukimya was in Bremen but unfortunately didn’t attend the game as he had to look after his child who was ill. +++

+++ Nouri and Nagelsmann: Nouri and Nagelsmann are both relatively new to the Bundesliga, however they both knew each other before they took charge of Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim respectively. “We know each other and get along well. We completed our training course together and learnt a lot from each other,” said Nouri. The SVW coach certainly thinks highly of Julian Nagelsmann. “He is a fine chap. I think he’s capable of taking charge of an even bigger club in the future, but at the moment he’s doing a great job at Hoffenheim.” +++
