+++ Alexander Nouri led his second first-team training session on Tuesday afternoon - this time though, it was behind closed doors. In the Weserstadion, the Green-Whites have been preparing for Wednesday’s home match against Mainz. Serge Gnabry’s participation in the game has been in doubt, as the 21 year old has been suffering from a thigh wound since the Gladbach game. However, the good news is that Gnabry has been able to train pain-free and is fit to play. Johannes Eggestein and Niklas Schmidt have left the first team to travel with the U23s to Magdeburg. +++

+++ Kainz debuts in the Bundesliga: Without a doubt, there are better games in which to make your Bundesliga debut. Florian Kainz was subbed on for Sambou Yatabaré four minutes to the end of last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Gladbach but was still able to soak in the atmosphere at Borussia-Park. He commented: “I would have preferred a positive result on my debut so I can’t be really happy.” More positive experiences should come in the future though as he confirmed: “I’ll train hard to get game time and give everything to get out of the rut we’re in.” The Austrian would of course prefer to play his second Bundesliga game on Wednesday against Mainz but he selflessly concluded: “It’s more important that we turn in a good performance and get the three points.” +++
