+++ Caldirola making progress: Having suffered a broken fibula and ligament damage on matchday 2 against FC Augsburg, Luca Caldirola is making good progress, but after his operation and several weeks on the sidelines, an exact return date for the full back is still unknown. The Italian completed his first individual training session on Monday morning with physiotherapist Florian Lauerer. “It was great and my foot reacted really well,” explained Caldirola on his return to training. +++

+++ Gnabry equals Bundesliga record: Serge Gnabry has scored in each of his five Bundesliga away appearances for Werder this season. The 21-year old scored away at Mönchengladbach, Darmstadt, Leipzig, Gelsenkirchen and Hamburg so far this season, equalling Steffen Baumgart’s record of scoring in his first five Bundesliga away appearances in the 1995/96 season. “I don’t know why I always seem to score away from home, but it’s been happening every time. I hope that I can finally score at home against Ingolstadt so that I can celebrate with all the Werder fans,” said the 21-year old after scoring in the Nordderby at the weekend. Gnabry was also voted ‘Man of the Match’ in the Nordderby on Facebook. +++

+++ Muscular problems: Alexander Nouri had to do without Florian Grillitsch in the Nordderby on Saturday due to muscular problems, and the Austrian is set to sit out for another two to three weeks. “It’s very frustrating to be injured. I will try and get fit again as quickly as possible and of course I’ll be supporting the team from the stands on Saturday,” said Grillitsch. Get well soon, Florian! +++

+++ Valdez in MLS final: Ex-Werder player Nelson Valdez is in the final of the MLS Cup! The striker who played for Werder between 2001 and 2006, was on the winning side as the Seattle Sounders beat the Colorado Rapids in the playoff semi-finals. A win in the Cup final will see the 33-year-old claim a league title in four different countries. Valdez has already won the Russian Cup, the Greek league title and the double in Germany. Valdez and team mate Jordan Morris, who played a friendly for Werder in last season’s winter training camp, will come up against either Toronto or Montreal, who play each other this Thursday. +++
