++ Return to applause: the 106th Nordderby further lifted the mood at the Weser-Stadion. However, it wasn’t just the final whistle that raised the roof at the stadium, but the return of Philipp Bargfrede was also met with thunderous applause. Werder’s number 44 came on for six minutes, only touched the ball once, but provided another positive aspect on what was a jubilant day as Werder defeated Hamburg in the Nordderby. “We wanted to bring on another defensive midfielder who could win tackles,” said Nouri on the decision to introduce Bargfrede late on. “We’re pleased to have him back after such a long absence,” added Nouri. +++

++ Shooting practice with a twist: Anyone who came by the Weser-Stadion on Easter Monday may have been surprised to see the players who didn’t feature in the Nordderby out on the training pitch doing some shooting practice. Claudio Pizarro was there with his two sons Claudio and Gianluca. The children of Werder’s record goalscorer weren’t just there to spectate, either. Gianluca went in goal for a short while and saved a number of shots including from Dad Claudio. Thomas Delaney was also present at training as he edges closer to a comeback. +++

++ Relaxed interview: Head coach Alexander Nouri appeared before the camera after the victory on Sunday. The 37-year-old was a guest on the NDR Sportclub and answered some questions from presenter Martin Roschitz. The pair discussed the Green-Whites recent good form. +++

++ Opportunity for autograph collectors: There will be two opportunities for Werder fans to meet their heroes and get autographs this week. Fin Bartels and Ulisses Garcia will be at the Marktkauf in Osterholz-Scharmbeck on Wednesday evening (19/04/17) at 17:30 CEST. Florian Grillitsch and Milos Veljkovic will then be at EURONICS in Wildeshausen from 18:00 CEST on the same day. +++

++ Meeting with the 'Killer': In the build-up to the 106th Nordderby, matchday member winners had the chance to meet Ivan Klasnic. The former Werder striker met with the winners of the ‘Member of the matchday’, posed for photos and signed autographs in the VIP area of the Weser-Stadion before the Hamburg game. ‘Member of the matchday’ is a competition held at every Werder home game whereby fans can send an email with their name, membership number and the words “Mitglied des Spieltags" to mitglieder-service@werder.de. +++

++ Skripnik is pleased: Former Werder head coach Viktor Skripnik has been speaking about his current personal situation and Werder’s recent form in an interview with a Ukranian newspaper. The Ukranian is pleased that Werder have eased their situation over the last few weeks. Everybody knows that Skripnik is a Werder fan. +++

++ Friends among us: The plans for the charity match between ‘Clemens‘ Werderanern’ and ‘Merte’s 96ern’ are starting to take shape. On the 3rd June 2017, celebrities, friends and current and former teammates of the two Germans will meet in a friendly match at Eilenriede. The first few players have already been named. ‘Team Fritz’ will include Werder’s goalkeeping coach Christian Vander, Patrick Owomoyela, Tim Borowski and Ivan Klasnic. Per Mertesacker has chosen, among others, Christoph Dabrowski, Christian Schulz, Fabian Ernst and Oliver Pocher. +++
