+++ It’s going to be a very important week, but by having three games in seven days means the Green-Whites could partially correct their unsuccessful start. Saturday’s game against Borussia Mönchengladbach is the first challenge which Werder will want to successfully manoeuvre. “Everyone has to fight for one another. We’ve made mistakes and paid for them, now we’re focusing on the Gladbach game and want the points,” said Aron Jóhannsson in Thursday’s press conference. The team bus will depart for Niederrhein at 14.30 CEST and on matchday, the team will go through their usual warm-up in the morning before kick-off. +++

+++ Delaney in the Champions League: In January, Thomas Delaney will transfer to Werder but until then, the Dane has some important business to attend to with his current club, FC Copenhagen. This week, the club from the capital started their Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw with FC Porto, captain Delaney played the whole 90 minutes. Their next European challenge is on the 27 of this month against Club Brugge. +++

+++ Team building on the Hamme: As well as the usual training sessions, the players also took part in some team-building activities. The coaching staff and sporting director Frank Baumann organised the event for Gnabry, Pizarro and Co., who spend Tuesday morning in Worpswede boating on the river Hamme. “In team building you can switch off and get to know each other better. The new guys could spend time with the rest of the lads off the pitch,” explained head coach Viktor Skripnik in the press conference before the Gladbach tie. “It was necessary and I hope it helps us,” Skripnik concluded. +++
