This Saturday's away encounter in Darmstadt will reunite Werder with some familiar faces, as Leon Guwara and Lázló Kleinheisler are both on loan at the Lilies from the Green-Whites. While left-back Guwara won’t feature against his old teammates after picking up two yellow cards in his last outing, Kleinheisler will be at his coach’s disposal. WERDER.DE spoke to the Hungary international about his transfer to Darmstadt and how he’s feeling about tomorrow’s clash.

WERDER.DE: Hello, Lázló! You came back from the European Championships in very high spirits but got injured in pre-season. How much did that annoy you?

László Kleinheisler: The Euros went very well for me and gave me a lot of confidence. The injury came at a very bad time and was a big set-back but I accepted what had happened and just concentrated on getting back to the pitch as quickly as possible.

WERDER.DE: You loan move to Darmstadt went through very quickly, what made you chose the Lilies?

Kleinheisler: Obviously after the Euros, I had hoped to be able to establish myself in Bremen but because of the injury and the fact I missed pre-season, it would have been difficult to get the game time I was hoping for. Darmstadt really wanted me and I saw a good chance for me to play regularly in the Bundesliga, which has been going well until now.

WERDER.DE: Tomorrow you’ll face your old teammates, are you looking forward to the encounter and have you had any contact with any of your former colleagues?

Kleinheisler: Prior to the game I haven’t had any contact with any of the lads but I'm looking forward to seeing many familiar faces. I’m really up for Saturday and of course want to show my quality on the pitch.

WERDER.DE: How are you feeling going into this tie with your old club?

Kleinheisler: I look forward to every Bundesliga game but this one against Werder is particularly special as I'm facing the team who brought me to the Bundesliga. After this game, the international break will start so I hope we play well so I can travel to my national team’s camp feeling good.

WERDER.DE: Neither Werder nor Darmstadt have started the season well, what kind of game do you expect on Saturday?

Kleinheisler: Both teams will do everything to take points from this game. Recently, we’ve played well at home and this week’s training has gone well. Therefore, I’m very optimistic that we’ll get the three points, even though I do root for Werder in their other games.

WERDER.DE: You've featured three times in the league this season, but haven’t played the full 90 minutes yet. How would you assess your start to the season?

Kleinheisler: I’m happy that I’ve played regularly but I can certainly perform better. I’m working to improve and have noticed that many things are going better for me. I’ve arrived at a new club, I’m getting to know my teammates more and more and as a team we’re on the right track.
