Jaroslav Drobny will continue to wear the green and white of Werder Bremen next season. The 38-year-old goalkeeper has committed his future to Werder. Sporting Director Frank Baumann announced the news on Friday afternoon.
"Jaro showed last season that, with his experience, he is an important asset to the team both on and off the pitch. Therefore, we're pleased to be able to count on his qualities in the coming season," said Frank Baumann.
"Jaro has shown that he's an important figure in this team, be it on the pitch, on the bench or in the dressing room. With his passion and love of the game he's really contributed positively to the team and is a good go-to person and role model for the younger players. It's nice that he's decided to stay and continue working with us," said head coach Alexander Nouri.
Jaroslav Drobny is looking forward to the upcoming season: "I feel fit and still have enthusiasm for football. Werder is one big family and one in which I feel really at home. The team has really developed well and I'm looking forward to continuing to help the boys," said the 38-year-old.
Jaroslav Drobny transferred to Werder from Hamburg in the summer of 2016. He made ten appearances for the Green-Whites in the 2016/17 season.
