After Saturday’s encounter with Darmstadt, many Werder stars will soon be meeting up with their national sides. Theodor Gebre Selassie and Jaroslav Drobny will first face their current country of residence, as their homeland of the Czech Republic will face Germany in their upcoming World Cup qualifier (08th Oct, 20:45 CEST). Three days later they will again be in action, but this time against Azerbaijan. “Of course we’re not the favourites but we’ll do our best to make life hard for Germany, we have a young and hungry team and want to put up a fight for the whole game,” commented Gebre Selassie ahead of the game.

WERDER.DE gives an overview of the Green-Whites who’ll be in action this international break below...

Three days after this encounter, they’ll face Serbia away. Florian Kainz and Florian Grilltisch are on standby for the senior team, while the latter has also been included in the Austria U21s squad to face the Faroe Islands (7th Oct, 16:30 CEST) and Serge Gnabry’s Germany U21s side on the 11th of October (18:00 CEST). +++

+++ Mali (Yatabaré): A tough challenge awaits Yatabaré’s Mali in the form of the Ivory Coast in his country’s Group C World Cup qualifier. Kick-off in that game is 20:00 CEST on Saturday the 8th of October. +++

+++ Finnland (Moisander): Werder’s new centre-back Niklas Moisander will also be in action for his nation’s two World Cup qualifiers. +++ Bosnia and Herzegovina (Hajrovic): After thrashing Estonia 5-0 in their opener, the Balkan state will want to continue their good start in their next two World Cup qualifiers against Belgium (7th Oct, 20:45 CEST) and Cyprus (10th Oct, 20:45 CEST). Werder winger Izet Hajrovic has again been called up to play for his country, as the 25 year old already has 20 caps for his country, scoring two goals. +++

+++ Switzerland U21s (U.
