Leon Guwara will be moving to 1. FC Kaiserslauten on loan. The 20-year old was loaned to SV Darmstadt 98 throughout last season, is off to the 2. Bundesliga side to build up his game time, confirmed by Werder sporting director Frank Baumann on Tuesday afternoon.

Guwara spent last season at Darmstadt 98 on loan, featuring in 17 Bundesliga games overall. "Unfortunately, Leon did not get so many chances to play in the second half of the season, so we are hopefully that he will get those opportunities in a full season at Kaiserslauten. We are confident that he can complete a strong season at a high level with Kaiserslauten and further his development," continued Baumann.

Leon Guwara came to Werder in the summer of 2014 from 1. FC Köln's academy. He played 45 competitive matches for the U23s in the Regionalliga and 3. Liga. He made his Bundesliga debut in February 2016, and featured again a few days later in the DFB-Pokal.
