Florian Grillitsch will leave SV Werder in the summer and sign for fellow Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The news was announced by both team on Monday afternoon. “It’s a real shame that he’s going to leave us. In the last few year he’s developed well at Werder and taken the step from youth team to the senior squad,” said Frank Baumann.

Nevertheless, the SVW sporting director is certain that the midfielder will be as committed as ever for Werder until he transfers to TSG in the summer. “Florian will give everything until the end of his contract,” noted Baumann.

Florian Grillitsch transferred to the Werder youth set-up in the summer of 2013 from St. Pöltens academy. Two years later, the nine-time capped Austria U21s player made his Bundesliga debut for the Green-Whites. In total, he featured 36 times for Werder in the league and 6 times in the DFB Cup.
