“It’s a real shame that Santi won’t be available to face Dortmund on Saturday,” said Nouri. It means the Bremen coach will be without two of his centre-backs as Robert Bauer is suspended for picking up too many yellow cards. “We will decide in the next few days if this will change our tactics or formation,” Nouri admitted.
Ousman Manneh also picked up an injury at the weekend. The 20 year-old had to be brought off in the U23s’ match against FSV Frankfurt after just half an hour and will have to watch his teammates from the sidelines on Saturday as they take on VfR Aalen in a crucial home fixture.
Some good news for Nouri is that Claudio Pizarro is fit again. The Peruvian was forced to withdraw from the warm-up with a muscle issue but he has managed to train with the rest of the team without any difficulties.
