"I have known Lukas since he played with us in the youth team. He has worn the colours of this club for seven years and has always represented the values of SV Werder Bremen in an exemplary manner. We wish him all the best for his future sporting career," said sporting director Frank Baumann.
Lukas Fröde arrived at the club in 2009 from FC Carl Zeiss Jena. The defender worked his way up through the academy and into the U23s, before eventually breaking into the first team. He was part of the U23s squad that achieved promotion into the 3. Liga in 2015, for whom he made a total of 64 appearances. He made 12 Bundesliga appearances for the Werder first team.
