The season still isn’t over for those Werder players on international duty. Theodor Gebre Selassie and Laszlo Kleinheisler were in action on Monday, while Ulisses García is set to play for Switzerland and Thomas Delaney could feature for Denmark against world champions Germany. We take a closer look at which Werder players are in action in the current internationals.

Left-back Ulisses García, who has been preparing to play for the Swiss U21s in a EURO qualification match against Bosnia-Herzegovina, has been called up to the full squad by coach Vladimir Petkovic in place of Nico Elvedi. García has already trained with the full squad in the last few weeks and was part of the Switzerland squad for their game against Belarus.  The Bremen left-back could feature for the Swiss in their World Cup qualification match against the Faroe Islands on Friday (09/06/17, 20:45 CEST) in Torshavn.

Theodor Gebre Selassie was on the losing side with the Czech Republic as they lost 2-1 to Belgium in a friendly. Werder’s wing-back played the full 90 minutes on the left-hand-side and was able to catch up with former teammate Kevin De Bruyne, who was at Werder for the 2012/13 season.

Laszlo Kleinheisler, who recently won the Hungarian Cup whilst on loan from at Ferencvaros Budapest from Werder, came on in the 70th minute for Hungary in their 3-0 defeat to Russia.   The 23-year-old could not alter the result in his twelfth international outing.

Thomas Delaney is set to be in action for Denmark on Tuesday evening in Copenhagen. Werder’s winter signing will come up against Germany in Bröndby in a friendly which kicks off at 20:45 CEST.

Serge Gnabry could feature for Germany’s U21s as they play the German students’ national team in Grassau. The game will be 30 minutes each way and is nothing more than a training match for the young Germans.
