SV Werder Bremen will be without Lamine Sané and Robert Bauer for the next few games, as they both picked up injuries during the 5-2 victory at SC Freiburg on Saturday. Both players had check-ups the following day and it was revealed that Bauer will be sidelined for several weeks with a ligament rupture in his ankle. Sané suffered a groin injury while warming up for the match and will likely be unavailable for the next two games.

“Both absences do hurt us, but we’ve shown in recent weeks that we are able to compensate for these absences and every player who has to make a contribution is immediately ready,” said Alexander Nouri. Still uncertain at this point is whether Zlatko Junuzovic will be available on Tuesday against FC Schalke 04. The Austrian international was not on board on Saturday due to a viral infection. “We’ll have to see how the next few days go for him and then make a decision,” said Nouri.
