Thursday’s newspapers in Germany were full of speculation surrounding a possible return to Werder Bremen for Davie Selke. Sporting director Frank Baumann was asked about the rumours during today’s press conference ahead of the home match against Hertha BSC. “We have met and talked about his situation, but now Davie is back in Leipzig, training and playing there,” said Baumann.

The future remains open, and Baumann confirmed that Werder have informed RB Leipzig of their interest. “He is a player that we’re keen on, but making the transfer happen would be a huge challenge given the financial aspects. We’ll see what the future brings. It would be nice if it happened, but we can accept it if it doesn’t,” said the sporting director.
