It has been confirmed since the beginning of January. Ludwig Augustinsson will be a Werder Bremen player as of this summer. The Sweden international is currently playing for FC Copenhagen until the end of this season. However, he can hardly contain his excitement about the prospect of joining up with the Green-Whites.
The Swede is aware of the challenges he will face when he joins up with Werder and knows that switching to the Bundesliga will be „a big step“, as he told ‘Kicker-Sportmagazin’. The 23-year-old is very much looking forward to linking up with Werder and said he had “a good feeling from the very beginning”. The attacking left-back also gave his thoughts on what could potentially come of Werder’s recent good form, saying, “We’re going to Europe!”
Augustinsson has already experienced European action with Copenhagen alongside current Werder man Thomas Delaney. Copenhagen have Augustinsson partly to thank for another good season which sees them on course to win another Danish title. The Stockholm born left-back has scored one and set up two goals in his last four matches. He has notched one goal and eight assists so far this season in the ALKA Superliga, which is an impressive record from his position. “I get a lot of assists, but I can’t promise too many goals,” said the Sweden international who is always looking to go forward and will certainly entertain the Werder fans next season.
