With the Bundesliga season drawing to a close, for many of the Werder players it is the start of the summer a break. A time free of the stress of the Bundesliga and the weekly fight for points, and instead getting some well-deserved relaxation. The team will spread to every corner of the world on their various holidays.

A few of the squad have international duty to fulfil before they can go on their holidays. Following the full team trip to Majorca, the likes of Theodor Gebre Selassie, Thomas Delaney and Co. are enjoying family holidays.

While the holiday destinations differ greatly, one thing above all unites them: a break by the sea. For Thomas Delaney it is enjoying the sights in Sicily with his girlfriend Michelle, although the planning process remains unfinished for Gebre Selassie – all that is known so far is that he wants a “family holiday by the sea with a lot of swimming and time to enjoy!” Zlatko Junuzovic is planning a trip to Italy. “It will be great for our little son to get to know the beach and the sea,” said the new Werder captain.

Ulisses Garcia is one who has international requirements before he can return to holiday mode. He has been called up to the Swiss senior national team for the first time for their match against Portugal, the country of his birth. After that, he will venture off to Mexican city Cancun with the aim of “relaxing fully before returning to Werder”.

Head coach Alexander Nouri plans to use the summer break to spend time with his family. “My wife and kids have not had an awful lot of time with me in recent times and now it is time to make up for that,” he stated, although did not mention where they would be travelling.

Like Garcia, Milos Veljkovic must join up with his national team, featuring in the Serbia U21 squad for the U21 EURO 2017. Despite the competition, though, he will still have a bit of time to chill before returning to Werder, but does not have concrete plans. “Perhaps I will go to Greece and enjoy the sun and the beach,” said Veljovic on his possible break.
