Fallou Diagne is set to return to France. The 27-year-old defender has been loaned out to Ligue 1 side FC Metz on loan until the end of the 2017/18 season. Werder’s sporting director Frank Baumann announced the move on Tuesday morning.
“We have always made clear that we would like to find a sensible solution for the player. We have managed to do that with Fallou. He will be moving back to his home club and can gain a high-level of match practice back in Ligue 1,” explained Baumann.
Fallou Diagne moved to the Weser-Stadion from Stade Rennes last summer. The Senegalese born defender has made two Bundesliga appearances for the Green Whites and three appearances for the U23s side in the 3 Liga.
