Niklas Moisander has given the all-clear. The Finnish centre-back hasn’t been training with the team for the past two days but he explained that the break is only a “precautionary measure”. Moisander explained: “I don’t want to strain myself by doing too much and risk a setback. I am doing well and can return to training on Friday.”

Moisander had his ankle operated on twelve weeks ago: “I’m on the right track. Some people can only just begin individual training now following the operation I had. I, on the other hand, have been able to train with the team and play in a friendly. I am very happy with my progress.”

Milos Veljkovic (muscular problems), Santiago Garcia (minor thigh muscle problem) and Theofor Gebre Selassie (ankle injury) all worked individually on Thursday. The trio could return to full first-team training in the coming days though. Max Kruse trained with the team for the first time following his move to the club. Thanos Petsos is likely to join in the afternoon training at 15:00 CEST after training individually this morning.
