Alejandro Gálvez has left SV Werder Bremen to return to his

homeland. The central defender has linked up with top-tier outfit SD Eibar. Sporting

director Frank Baumann announced the deal on Wednesday.

“It has been apparent for a number of weeks that Alex wanted to return to Spain. We didn’t want to lose him but eventually managed to find a solution that suits all parties. We’d like to thank Alex for how he’s conducted himself whilst here and wish him all the best for the future,” explained Baumann.

The 27-year-old joined Bremen from Rayo Vallecano in summer 2014. During his stint in Germany he made 41 Bundesliga appearances (2 goals) and featured in five DFB Cup ties.
