Training with an alpine backdrop has come to an end for another year. SV Werder have returned from Zillertal and started training once again on Monday at the Weser-Stadion.

The trusty duo worked on their comebacks away from the rest of the team: Aron Jóhannsson and Philip Bargfrede completed a number of running exercises in front of several Werder fans. Santiago García, Milos Veljkovic and Thanos Petsos also trained individually. However, they worked inside the stadium.

As Michael Zetterer is still out through injury and Eric Oelschlägel is in Brazil for the Olympic Games, head coach Viktor Skripnik invited a new face to team training: Jonas Hupe from Werder’s U19s pulled on his gloves alongside Felix Wiedwald, Jaroslav Drobny and Raphael Wolf in the first team.

On Tuesday, the Green-Whites will have two training sessions. Skripnik will gather his boys together at 10:00 CEST and 15:00 CEST, in order to prepare as best as possible for the pre-season highlight: the friendly against Chelsea on Sunday (15:00 CEST).
