SV Werder’s week of training got under way on Monday afternoon without Florian Grillitsch. The Austrian suffered a pulled muscle in his right thigh last Saturday, in a friendly against VfB Lübeck.  The Green-Whites will now have to travel to their training camp in Zillertal without the 20-year-old.

"It is obviously particularly disappointing for Flo to drop out at this point of pre-season. This is the most important time for any footballer in terms of getting a good start to the season, but he will do all he can to make a quick recovery”, said head coach Viktor Skripnik.

Grillitsch was substituted at half-time in the friendly against Regionalliga side Lübeck because of muscle problems. After further examination in Bremen, it has been diagnosed as a pulled muscle.
