With around six and a half weeks to go until the start of the new Bundesliga season, the German Football League has released the exact fixtures for the first five matchdays. It was already known that Werder would start the new campaign at the German champions Bayern Munich (26th August, 20:30 CEST), but now the Werder fans can take a look at the other encounters at the start of the season.
The Green-Whites’ first home game, against FC Augsburg, will take place on Sunday, 11th September. Kick-off at the Weser-Stadion is at 15:30 CEST.
After this, the Green-Whites will contest three evening matches. On the third matchday (17th September), Werder face Gladbach at the Borussia-Park. Kick-off is at 18:30 CEST. Depending on the outcome of Borussia’s Champions League qualifier, this game could be rescheduled for the Sunday.
The second home match will be a mid-week fixture on the fourth matchday. On Wednesday, 21st September, SVW will meet Mainz 05, with kick-off at 20:00 CEST.
Werder have another evening fixture on matchday five. The guests will be VfL Wolfsburg on 24th September. Kick-off is at 18:30 CEST.
