SV Werder’s first pre-season training session took place on Sunday morning. After the conclusion of the exercise the squad left Bremen and headed to Neuruppin, where a training camp will take place until next Saturday.

20 outfielders and four goalkeepers took part. Summer signings Lennart Thy, Thanos Petsos, Florian Kainz and Fallou Diagne, as well as young trio Johannes Eggestein, Philipp Eggersglüß and Thorben Rehfeldt were present. Niklas Moisander, Justin Eilers and Florian Grillitsch trained individually.
Luca Caldirola and Izet Hajrovic were also involved, having spent last season on loan at SV Darmstadt and SD Eibar respectively.
