Melvyn Lorenzen suffered facial injuries after being attacked outside of his house on Sunday morning. The 21-year-old forward was taken to hospital, where he currently remains, in an ambulance. He was due to travel to Neuruppin alongside his teammates for the training camp but is now set to be out of action for three weeks.

Sporting director Frank Baumann made the following statement on Sunday morning: “We’re obviously shocked by what happened and hope that the situation is cleared up as soon as possible. Melvyn has our full support. We wish him a quick recovery and hope to see him back with his teammates in the near future.”
