SV Werder will have to do without goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny for the time being. The Czech national keeper has broken a bone in his wrist and has also suffered a small break in his hand. These were the results from his examination in Bremen on Friday morning.

“His hand now needs to be rested. We will then have to wait and see how the healing process proceeds. It looks as if he could be out for several weeks. However, those who know Jaroslav, will know that he will give absolutely everything to be back on the pitch as soon as possible,” said goalkeeping coach Christian Vander.

Drobny picked up the injury on international duty with the Czech Republic and had to subsequently withdraw from the squad. The SVW keeper returned to the Green Whites on Thursday evening.
